Born in Mexico City, I have been passionate about computer graphics and video games since I was 12. I studied for a Computer Science bachelor's and then moved to Spain to get a Master's in 3d animation and VFX. When I returned to Mexico, I worked in animated Movies and VFX for broadcast since 2008.I have taught VFX and CG for 12 years with tools like 3dsmax, Maya, Nuke, PFtrack, Shogun, Unreal Engine, FumeFX, Krakatoa, Real Flow, etc. I got a second Master's Degree in international communications in 2012.For the last few years, I have been working to help companies develop technologies, methodologies, and pipelines to achieve groundbreaking Real-time CG-related content, in 2014 co-founded my first company HCG Tech, the official and exclusive reseller of Vicon Motion Systems and Faceware in Spanish-speaking countries. Currently, HCG is based in Miami, Florida, and is the major consultancy firm for Virtual Production stages in Latin America. With this company, I had the chance to evangelize and transform the Motion Capture industry for animation and VFX working with more than 50 universities in Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Peru, and Republica Dominicana, constructing the gold standard in animation studios and production companies.In 2020 I co-founded Eugenia Digital Humans, a Metaverse company to offer services for AI-based Avatars and scanning Digital doubles. In 2021 we got an Epic Megagrant and joined Nvidia Inception. Since then, Eugenia has been working with world-class companies/projects, like real-time digital crowds systems for Virtual Production projects or Virtual influencers. In 2023 Eugenia opened offices in Miami, Florida, and is looking for a round of seed funding series A; my role is CTO & Shareholder.In 2022 I joined Industrial Light & Magic as Senior Mocap TD and moved to Vancouver to work doing Virtual Production with the same team and technology used at The Mandalorian. I spent a year working with the most advanced methodologies and workflows in a 10-episodic TV show, Percy Jackson & The Olympians. After my contract with ILM, I have worked as a consultant worldwide to develop Virtual Production workflows and ICVFX stages. My role in the community is to be a leader and part of the Mentors/Instructors for Epic Games in Latin America boot camps.Im, in the last year of my Ph.D. related to AI and Digital Humans facial animation using real-time with Unreal Engine. Some of my papers have been published in well-recognized scientific magazines.My last project is the Virtual Production Academy. The first Authorized Training Center by Epic Games focused into ICVFX in the Spanish speaking market.
